Thursday is the last day to mail in ballots for the upcoming special election in Portland, according to Multnomah County Elections.

The election, happening Tuesday, Aug. 11, will determine the winner in the runoff to fill the seat on the Portland City Council previously held by Commissioner Nick Fish. Fish died of cancer earlier this year.

Whoever wins will fill the remainder of Fish’s term, which runs through the end of 2022.

Along with mailing in ballots, voters can also drop off their ballots at designated drop box sites until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11.
