Oregon regulators say there are currently 73 active COVID-19 workplace outbreaks in the state. More than 4,000 workers have contracted the virus from their workplaces. Union leaders have been working with Oregon’s Occupational Safety and Health Authority to draft a new set of COVID-19 workplace protection standards. The standards are nearly finalized, but union leaders say they don’t go far enough. We talk with Michael Wood, the administrator of Oregon OSHA, and Jessica Giannettino Villatoro, the political director for Oregon AFL-CIO, about the new standards which are set to begin the week of Nov. 2.
