TK & The Holy Know-Nothings — “Serenity Prayer”

Portland band TK & The Holy Know-Nothings are set to release their sophomore effort, “The Incredible Heat Machine,” on Oct. 15. The first single from that album is “Serenity Prayer,” which embraces undeniably throwback country sounds. The new album was recorded live (just like the band’s previous release) on stage at the OK Theatre in the Eastern Oregon town of Enterprise. Armed with clever lyrics and combined with a classic sing-a-long ethos, “Serenity Prayer” is sure to be a crowd favorite.

Stephen Fretwell — “The Long Water”

Stephen Fretwell is an English singer-songwriter out of Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire. After early career success, the musician took an extensive amount of time off to focus on raising a family. “The Long Water” (from his new album “Busy Guy”) represents a return to recording and live performance after that 14-year hiatus. Here, Fretwell illuminates the emotional elements of the gorgeous and mostly acoustic song as he displays a rare talent as a vocal crooner.

Wet Leg — “Chaise Longue”

Musicians Rhian Teasdale (aka RHAIN) and Hester Chambers make up the young Isle of Wight duo Wet Leg. The group’s debut single, “Chaise Longue,” is surprisingly polished, showcasing the swagger and confidence of a more seasoned band. The infectious song rides a rapid rhythm, catchy guitar riff interludes, and an irresistible, devil-may-care vocal delivery that leads to a surprising crescendo.
