The city of Portland made a national splash a few weeks ago when the city council announced it would be boycotting the entire state of Texas. City officials were responding to a law that has dramatically curtail abortion access in Texas. But after the city made headlines, the plan changed.

On this week’s episode of “OPB Politics Now,” OPB reporters Dirk VanderHart and Rebecca Ellis discuss how the city now plans to fight the Texas law — and why the proposal shifted so significantly.

They also discuss the upcoming legislative session on redistricting that Oregon Gov. Kate Brown called for, and what’s at stake.
