Yeah Yeah Yeahs feat. Perfume Genius — “Spitting off the Edge of the World”

“Spitting Off the Edge of the World” is a new track from Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ forthcoming album “Cool It Down,” due out in September. It’s a stirring vocal performance from lead singer Karen O and contributor Perfume Genius who belt out ominous lyrics underscored by the production of TV on the Radio’s Dave Sitek. “‘Spitting Off the Edge of the World’ was inspired in part by the looming climate catastrophe,” Karen O explained in a statement.

J Rocc — “LA Anthem”

J Rocc (of the Beat Junkies) has returned with a sophomore solo album named “A Wonderful Letter,” created as a loving ode to the Los Angeles music scene of the early 1980s. He joins forces with LMNO and Key Kool to capture that nostalgic spirit on the track “L.A. Anthem.” Deft production and lyrical mastery add an authentic essence to the track which pays homage to hip-hop luminaries.

Laura Veirs — “Winter Windows”

Portland singer-songwriter Laura Veirs releases her 12th album “Found Light” on July 8. Co-produced by Veirs and Shahzad Ismaily, the record largely focuses on themes surrounding life after divorce. The lead single, “Winter Windows,” is a dazzling frenzy of forward momentum aptly demonstrating Veirs’ rebirth as an artist in recent years. “This song gets at my punk roots but feels confident and current to my life right now,” Veirs explained.
