MorMor — “Far Apart”

THANKS TO OUR SPONSOR:

Canadian singer and producer MorMor, whose real name is Seth Nyquist, returns after a nearly two-year hiatus with this new self-produced single. “Far Apart” is a powerful combination of soul-spitting falsetto and funky instrumentation. He recently described the song as being “about the toxicity that occurs in a relationship when both people haven’t yet faced their demons.”

Sorry — “Let The Lights On”

With a release date in October, Sorry has announced the impending arrival of their much-anticipated second album “Anywhere But Here.” The new record was co-produced by the band and Portishead’s Adrian Utley. “Let The Lights On” is the first single from the album and displays a musical shift towards dancier sounds while maintaining the English band’s signature vocal swagger. “It’s a fun love song for the club,” the band said in a statement.

Kennebec — “Tall Tales”

Eric Phillips, otherwise known as Kennebec, is a Portland-based musician whose second album, “Without Star Or Compass,” is due out on Oct. 7. The record features the stellar track “Tall Tales” which includes impressive vocal contributions from Hemlock Ernst and Sudan Archives. Tranquil production coats the song with rhythmic percussion and harmonies that take the listener on an intimate journey.
