Trump's Travel Ban And The Mohamud Case | Tacoma's ICE Detention Facility | Gerrymandering In Oregon | Paid Family Leave

• President Trump's new executive order barring entry of all refugees and people from six Muslim-majority countries references the case of Mohamad Mohamud. In 2014, the Somalia-born citizen was found guilty of attempted terrorism for plotting to set off a bomb in downtown Portland. We talk with former Acting U.S. Attorney Dwight Holton about what the reference to this case can tell us about the executive order.

• Tacoma, Washington, has the largest immigration detention facility in the Northwest. And the city just passed an ordinance barring it from expanding. Marilyn Strickland, the mayor of Tacoma, fills us in.

• Secretary of State Dennis Richardson is advocating for a change in the way Oregon handles redistricting in order to prevent gerrymandering. We talk to Reed College political science professor Paul Gronke about the pros and cons of letting an independent panel control the way district lines are drawn.

• There are currently two paid family leave bills being considered in Salem - one that would allow employers to opt in, and one that would require more active participation from employers. We're talking to Oregon lawmakers Knute Buehler and Jennifer Williamson, who support competing bills.
