Man shot, killed by law enforcement in Josephine County

Law enforcement officers in Josephine County shot and killed a man Friday afternoon who they say was a suspect in a homicide investigation.

In a press release, state and local officers say they found 48-year-old Kelly Lynn Mason in a vehicle near Grants Pass shortly after noon.

Police say Mason fled from officers, and they pursued him. During the pursuit, multiple officers fired their guns at Mason. He was killed at an intersection of U.S. Highway 199 in Grants Pass.

At least one officer was injured. All involved officers have been placed on paid administrative leave while the shooting is under review.
